Accessibility Commitment

The Tallahassee Fire Protection District is committed to providing a website accessible to all members of the public, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as set forth by the W3C and follow the standards outlined in the Colorado Technology Accessibility Rules (8 CCR 1501-11).

We welcome comments on improving accessibility and requests for reasonable accommodations to any Tallahassee Fire Protection District services.

How we are implementing accessibility

Website testing and remediation

  • We regularly evaluate our pages with automated and manual checks (e.g., WAVE and Check My District Accessibility Checker) and other tools.
  • We continuously remediate issues and improve our website and digital applications.

Feedback and accommodation requests

We encourage you to share feedback and request reasonable accommodations that help ensure access to our services.

  • Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We strive to respond within a reasonable timeframe based on the nature of the request.
  • Certain content (for example, older PDF documents) may not be fully accessible due to current technology constraints. We monitor these areas and pursue accessible solutions as technology improves.
