Volunteer Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder
Become a Volunteer Firefighter or Emergency Medical Responder!
Did you know that over 70% of all firefighters in the United States are volunteers?
The Tallahassee Fire Protection District (TFPD) is looking for community-minded volunteers. Our emergency services simply could not operate without our volunteer members. Volunteering is a meaningful way to give back to your community, make new friends, gain valuable skills, and have incredible experiences.
No experience is necessary! We provide the training you need to succeed as an emergency responder. Training opportunities include web-based courses, local sessions, and programs at the city, county, and state level. All essential equipment and tools are provided (with a few exceptions). We understand that volunteers have other commitments, so we offer flexible scheduling to accommodate you.
If you are interested in applying, please email the TFPD at info@talxfire.com to start your journey toward becoming an emergency responder.
Anyone interested in volunteering is welcome to attend our training events at the TFPD Main Station ( 2518 State Highway 9, Cañon City, CO ).
Please call us at 719-275-3058 to find out when our next training event will be held.
