Volunteer Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder

Become a Volunteer Firefighter or Emergency Medical Responder!

Did you know that over 70% of all firefighters in the US are volunteers?

The Tallahassee Fire Protection District is looking for volunteers that want to help out their community.  Our emergency services simply could not be provided without our volunteer members. Volunteering is an exciting and rewarding option to give back to your community, meet new friends, gain useful skills and have incredible experiences.

No experience is necessary.  We will help provide you with the training you need to be a successful Emergency Responder.  We provide links to web-based training as well as local training and access to opportunities for training at the city, county and state level.  We provide you with all of the necessary equipment and tools, with some exceptions.  We understand that volunteers have other obligations and we are flexible and can accommodate other commitments and unique schedules.

If you are interested in applying, please email the TFPD at info@talxfire.com and start your journey of developing into an emergency responder.

Anyone interested in volunteering with us is always invited to attend our training events which are held at the TFPD Main Station (2518 State Highway 9):

Please get in touch with us at 719-275-3058 to find out when our next training event will be held.
